My name is Alexandra and See Me Speak was founded in honor of my twin boys, Caleb and Noah, who are nonspeakers and spellers.

For many years, life seemed dark and daunting. It felt like everything with Autism was always a fight. My husband, Carlo, and I were growing tired and weary. We wondered if we would ever get to know our boys, really know them. Then in early 2020, we came upon Spelling to Communicate (S2C). It changed EVERYTHING for our boys and our family. We finally saw the light at the end of the tunnel. We found that what we had been led to believe about Autism was completely wrong. Our boys do NOT have a problem with cognition. In fact, their cognition and understanding is fully in tact! What they struggle with is motor planning, which inhibits their ability to properly execute various motor actions - to include the finest of motor - speech... Our boys have been in there the entire time! Listening, seeing, absorbing information all around them... With S2C, we have been able to give them their voice and we are finally able to see them speak! 

 

Upon learning all of this, I did the only thing I knew how. I began to build what our boys needed to thrive and stepped into my "ikigai" (Japanese concept for 'reason for being') - my purpose. Now I won't stop until every nonspeaker has access to S2C for communication, a very basic human right. 

My name is Natalie and I could not be more thrilled to be joining the S2C team at See Me Speak! 

 

As a former teacher, who worked with individuals with Autism in an ABA setting, I have experience that spans the spectrum of communication abilities, including students who were non-speaking and minimally-speaking.

My cousin has always been my inspiration for wanting to work in the special education field, but landing myself a career in the autism field was a bonus. 

 

I have been a stay-at-home mom to my 7-year-old son, Cooper and my 4-year-old triplets, Hudson, Parker and Raegan, since hugely expanding our family four years ago, and I am grateful to my husband, Dave, for making it possible for me to spend that special and precious time with them. However, a part of me has been missing and I am looking forward to making a difference outside my home and for other families again!

 

I cannot wait to experience and witness the miracle that S2C brings to so many individuals and their families with my very own clients, and to be a part of this revolution that is going to change the landscape for Autism and non-speakers everywhere. The rewards that come to everyone who is involved in this amazing community of incredible people are truly endless!
